the Hershey Center for Applied Research is proud to have as tenants some of the top research companies and organizations in several fields of high technology. Our facilities include over 80,000 square feet of laboratory and office space, including flexible wet lab modules not found in other technology parks.

With a focus on the life sciences, our tenants are making advancements in a wide variety of research fields.

HCAR tenants are involved in important research to develop new medical devices, treatments, nanotechnology, vaccinations, pharmaceuticals, food science, and more. The common space available in our three-story Building One structure encourages collaboration and innovation among our tenants as well as researchers at the adjacent Penn State Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine.

The HCAR relationship with Penn State University is one of the key advantages that the tenants at our technology park enjoy. Researchers are given access to Penn State’s state-of-the-art equipment and services at below-market rates, as well as open seminars and lectures held on campus throughout the year. Penn State’s $800 million in annual research expenditures has resulted in numerous breakthroughs in the study and treatment of diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, oncology, and more.

As tenants at HCAR, researchers have access to Penn State’s George T. Harrell Library on the nearby campus, which is easily reachable via shuttle every thirty minutes. Dining services and a fitness trail connecting HCAR to the Penn State campus are just a couple of the amenities available to our technology park tenants.
